I'm up early again. I went over to my hometown to get my car yesterday. Whew, it's nice to get it back. I don't drive much but still...it's good to know it's out there if I need it. I decided with my future being unknown, I should not be going out so much. I don't anyway but when I do, I tend to get generous and buy the drinks. Old habits die hard, I suppose. So, I fell asleep early last night, that's why I'm up early today. I gotta be honest, I've been sleeping way too much lately. I think it's how I deal with stress but truth be told, it could also mean I'm slipping into depression. I can't have that. So, my goal is to step up my job search and get out for walks more. My knees are killing me but maybe if I start exercising more, it'll help. It couldn't hurt. Getting older sux. Maybe I realize my age more these days cuz my 43rd b-day is at the end of the month. Crickey! Oh, lately I've been bitten by the "Deadliest Catch" fever! I love that show! It's on the Discovery channel daily and today there will be a marathon. My fave is Capt. Johnathan of the Time Bandit. I plan on meting him at a book signing on the 19th. He's single and 45 and lives between Washington and Alaska....sounds like my kinda guy 'eh?! We'll see. I hope to meet him and I intend on inviting him out for some drinks afterwards. Rumor has it, he's gone out with fans before. I don't plan on being a fan forever...I much prefer "friend" status. Here's a quick mention...years ago Capt. Johnathan tried to rescue a man that fell overboard, I don't know if it was his own crew member or another boat, but he tried CPR for 2.5 hours and couldn't save him. That man was my best buddy, Aaron's, sister's husband. Whew. Small world. Well, I guess I should do something while I'm up and have all this energy. No NASCAR today.It was on last night and Junior placed 4th. He's 4th in points too. I'll check back later. For now I wanna wish all the Mom's on Blogstream a Happy Mother's Day! I love Spring time, longer days, everything in bloom...ah...the sunshine! My landlord is planting flowers outside my door soon and he'll wax my wood floor this weekend. Life is good. All in all, I've had a nice week indeed. Caught up with some old friends earlier in the week and basically I'll be working next door at the motel all weekend (doing laundry). Today is the summer fun food drive, so I suppose I'll have to get some food together to donate. Other than dropping off a couple applications, I don't have any big plans for the day. My car is 16 miles away...I'd like to go over and get that soon. I went to my hometown the other day and had a little too much fun, lol. The car stayed behind. Today is going to be sunny and in the upper 60's. I got out and about a little bit yesterday and it was a nice walk. Well, it's still kinda early, I think I'll take a quick nap and then get up for the day. I hope everyone has a great weekend! Don't forget Mom on MOther's Day this sunday!

It's been awhile 'eh? 3 weeks. I've been working at the motel next door, in the Laundry Room. I enjoy it actually, I could fold towels all day long, I like repeatative work. It gives me alot of time to think, while actually doing something. I had an offer to become an Asst. Mgr at this motel. I'd begin training in June and start in July. I don't want to jump the gun, but I really hope I get this job! I'd have free rent/utilities/cable and internet. I would get paid a nice sum monthly and basically work 3 days on, 3 days off. It sounds perfect. Waiting is the hardest part. I oly help out with laundry whenever they need me. So, I'm finally collecting unemployment. I can make it till June and then I hope I'll be onto my next venture. Other than that, I haven't been up to much. Just trying to keep my spirits up. Last night I missed a concert in Spokane that Ireally wanted to see: DefLeppard, STYX and REO Speedwagon. It just wasn't a good time for me to spend alot of money on the trip up, hotel and concert ticket. Not to mention, I'd be going alone. That's another thing, I'm new to town and have yet to make some friends. My co-workers are in their early 20's so I don't really hang with them. I am thinking about joining a church and I want to check into volunteering. Today I have some errands to run. I'm procrastinating. Ugh. Yesterday I spent all day reading a book called "Marley & Me" (Life with the World's worst Dog). It was a fabulous book and I laughed out loud alot and during the sad part, I cried like a baby. Spring has sprung. The weatherman says once it hits 50 degrees, it doesn't go back. I hope he's right. It's supposed to be 53 today. Tuesday I went to an Orientation to Work Source a partner of Unemployment. I still don't know if I'm eligible for benefits yet, I filed 4 weeks ago and still haven't received a check. If my Mom hadn't helped me out, I would be SOL. Next week I'm scheduled to go to Work Source 4 days. Sheesh. The good thing is, I'll be working on a resume. Anyhoo ~ yesterday I was putting on one of those lotions that slowly tans you. When I was rubbing it on my legs, I noticed the back of my right thigh kinda hurt. I figured I might have strained a muscle or something. Today I put the lotion on again and I gotta admit, it's working. I noticed the back of my thigh still hurt, so I got a mirror out and HOLY COW! I have a HUGE bruise the size of my palm, it's purple right now. I have no idea how it got there? Now I can't help but feel the pain. Well, I need to get some sleep. I'm going to clean a couple houses this afternoon for some spending money. My cable/internet bill is due soon. I'd be lost without cable tv and my laptop! Oh, I almost forgot to mention that I've been cooking lately. I made fried chicken for the first time the other night and I can't believe how easy it is! Turned out delicious. Yesterday I made a pot roast, mmmmm. I'm being quite domestic lately. Wish I had someone to share it with. I'm thinking about doing some volunteer work, maybe I'll meet some people. I don't have a problem meeting people...I just need to get out more. Whenever I go out though, I want to spend money. Money I don't have. I'll figure something out. Monday night I was called up to the Hilltop to get my final paycheck. While I was there I decided to sit in the bar and have a beer. I met a cool lady who just so happens to be on a Ladies Roller Derby Team, how cool is that?! She was nice and put my beers on her tab/business account. I would have never guessed her to be the roller derby type. I'd like to go see it someday. As a kid I watched women roller derby and there was always the Big Bertha types who flatten out the others with "clothes-line" tactics. KABLAM! On that note, I'm going to lay down and get some sleep. The Cougs lost thursday. 68-47. Dang it. It was a helluva run, they made it to the Big Dance! Sweet 16 baby, first time in history. UNC Tar Heels were just too much, they played awesome. Anyhooo ~ it's the weekend. I got alot of stuff done today. My Mom saved my 'lil butt yesterday. She sent me a ginormous check to help me out. Whew! I've been so stressed lately. Rent and bills are do and my car is on empty. At least now I'll be set for a little while. Ummm, not much else going on. Just being domestic. I'm going to make a pot roast this weekend. Mmmmmmm. Oh yeah, charges have been filed against my friend, Rikki Rockett (drummer of POISON). Some ho is claiming he raped her. NOT TRUE! He is happily engaged to a beautiful girl, he is one of the nicest, honest, loyal and decent guys I know. I imagine some groupie tried to entice him, he declined and her drunk/high ass was insulted so she cried rape. The truth will prevail. Stay strong Rikki, I believe in your goodness.
