Hand on Heart

 I finally did it!

I FINALLY walked down the hill!! Yah! I went with Abby to deliver lunch to Jon and his guests ~ on the river. I had so much fun! I'll probly do that as often as I can cuz it's so much fun to get out in the boat. I can't believe it has taken me so long to walk down the hill. When I first came up it, I remember how steep it was and there's over 140 steps and a few areas without steps. I had it all built up in my mind that it was horrible. Well, back then it was because of all the mosquitos. It's not so bad now. I plan on getting my fishing license today and going out fishing with Abby tonight. He's so sweet. He stops the boat and points things out to me. During one such stop I noticed a Mama bear and her two baby cubs. They were so cute and little. We watched them for awhile and we saw lots of fish jumping out of the water. I saw a couple Beaver Dams. What a great day! The sun is out and it was just marvelous! I hope I catch some nice fish tonight. The Silver Salmons are in. Down by our boats is where the guys take fish eggs and feed the trout. When they throw the eggs out, it looks like the water is 'boiling' cuz of all the fish. Summer just got a whole lot better! I figure walking up and down the hill will be great exercise. Now if I could just refuse all the little treats. I'll let ya know later if I caught any fish. You know what they say about "beginner's luck". Have a great day Streamers! Trixie

 What about Bob?

I brought my little portable radio out here but it's hard to find a station that will come in. Recently I found one called "Bob FM". It's pretty good. It says: "We play rock from the 80's, 90's and whatever". It's funny, they don't have dj's really or a whole bunch of commercials, just good music and little talk. I really like it when they play songs that I haven't heard in ages like "I believe in miracles (you sexy thang)". They play just a variety and the tunes make work go by alot faster. I finally saw the porcupine today...he is so darn cute! They waddle like little old men, lol. It's nice out today, sunny. I worked a couple hours and now I'm just going to take it easy and enjoy the end of another beautiful day. I've been surfing around the Stream and catching up with everyone's blogs. Sounds like the Lower 48 is having a heatwave! It hasn't been over 70 degrees here. Today is only the 2nd or 3rd time I've worn shorts. Well, I'm going to go back to my cabin and listen to Bob some more. Y'all have a great week, what's left of it. Toodle~Looo Trixie

 Getting back to normal...sorta

Having guests the past few days has been nice. I'd rather stay busy and make money than sit around. Christie and Sam came out to visit for a couple days. Last night our pilot, Scott, came up to the Lodge for dinner. Yesterday I mopped the floor 3 friggin times. It makes me soooo mad when I take the time to mop the huge wood floor and then people come in and walk all over it with their waders and muddy shoes. We have signs that tell everyone to take their waders off and the guides all know better...yet...it's a constant battle. After the third time I was asked to do it by Ray, I kinda blew up. Not too bad, I said a few cuss words and I stomped around and basically acted mad. After I was done he said "thank you" but I didn't answer. I went upstairs and cried a little in frustration. Needless to say, today someone else has been mopping. That's the first time I let this job get to me. Hopefully it'll be the last. I'm back to being the only gal out here till August 5th. Nick has sent me a care package, I can't wait to get it! He has a subscription to STAR & US magazines and he's sending me a bunch of those, along with some of those Airwalk clogs. He's sending other stuff too, what a guy! It's been raining daily for the past week. Ugh. This summer hasn't seen too many sunny days, which is odd. Everyone else is having a heat wave, sounds like. Did I mention there's a porcupine living under my cabin? I haven't seen him yet, but the guys have. Christie took the Lodge cat back to town with her today. That cat has been out here for 14 years. That's pretty amazing! Considering it goes outside and has never been eaten by the wild animals. I know someone who named their cat "Eagle Bait". Well...I guess I'll get ready for bed. Hope everyone is having a great week so far! Y'all be good ~ Trixie

 Sunday the 23rd of July

Sorry Junior.....bad day at the race track. It's a mellow day for me. We have guests back at the Lodge and Christie brought Sam, the wonder dog, back out for a few days. His leg is healing up nicely. Spike is back in the kitchen...yah! Last night we had barbqed salmon and for dessert he made us strawberry/rhubarb/rasberry crisp with fresh whipped creme...MMM! I had two helpings. I know, I know...but hey, it was really good! I haven't been on the computer much lately. Just been hanging low and doing my own thing. OH...just read a PM from Lucy saying I got 3rd place for "Most Original" ~ THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! To everyone who voted! It was a fun picture to take. Christie did a great job planting flowers and she came up with the waders/tackle box idea. Let's see, that's about it. Mellow weekend. 7 weeks of Lodge Life left. Wow, time does fly. How was everyone's weekend? It was my Amigo Jeff's birthday friday and my "niece" Darci's wedding yesterday. I'd celebrate but I drank everything last week. I'll celebrate with cranberry juice I guess. Well, I'm going to catch up with the Stream and I hope everyone is having a great summer so far! Y'all take care ~ Trixie

 My Input

Today I received a request for my input on a book about a certain hockey player that I've mentioned here before. How exciting! Ya see, this is the second time in my life that I've been asked that. What a trip. The first time was with a rocker guy, lead singer...who died at a young age after a certain amount of fame. He died on his birthday on the beaches of Hawaii. A book was to be written about him back in the 80's, whether it was or not...I don't know? It's funny cuz I recently "googled" Kimbi...just to find out what's going on in his life. I know he's supposed to get married and he has 2 kids...so, I just googled him. I was surprised to see my blog pop up, I guess just because I've mentioned his name in the past...well, it stuck. That makes me wonder? I'm not that smart about computers and I guess I should be more careful. I have met ALOT of famous people and now...just think, every time I mention their name once or twice, I'll be connected to their search engines somehow. I think deep down, that's why I've never written much about people I know or have met. NEEDS MORE COWBELL is a great blog...yet, I don't want what I write to be taken out of context. I don't want someone to read my stuff and think..."Hey, I was living with him while he was on that tour....", ya know? I guess I've learned my lesson today...be careful what you write about, for someday it just might bite ya in the a*s. I don't have to worry though, I haven't said anything to get me into TOO much trouble, lol! C'mon people, I am named "Rocket" after all!!! Trixie
